Every story starts with people.
Every fact is verified.
Every voice matters.
Every report is free to tell the truth.
Grounded. Accountable. Independent. Human-centered.
That’s GroundLens.

Journalism that starts where the story happens.

Real stories. Local voices. Ground-level reporting.

Reporting the human impact of change.

From India to Asia, we report the stories that matter.

Our mission is simple.

Tell authentic stories, amplify overlooked voices, and help people understand the world through the experiences of those living it.

About GroundLens

GroundLens is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit newsroom (EIN: 42-2478433). We are an independent, reader- and donor-supported journalism organization dedicated to reporting from the ground up — focusing on firsthand experiences, local realities, and the real-world impact of technology, climate change, healthcare, education, digital infrastructure, and economic transformation.

Too often, news coverage is shaped by official statements, political debates, and corporate announcements. These matter, but they do not always capture how major changes affect the people living through them. GroundLens exists to fill that gap. We begin in India, one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly changing societies, and will expand our reporting across Asia.

We cover artificial intelligence and public innovation, climate and environmental change, healthcare access, education and employment, the digital economy, entrepreneurship, agriculture and rural development, data privacy, manufacturing and supply chains, and defense and strategic industries — always asking how these changes affect people’s everyday lives. Grounded

Firsthand reporting and local perspectives, not press releases.

Independent

Free of political, corporate, and ideological agendas.

Human-centred

We connect large trends to the everyday lives of real people.

Accountable

Driven by curiosity, transparency, and verifiable facts.
