Shub Chowdhury is the Founder and Executive Director of GroundLens.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting independent journalism and amplifying voices that are often overlooked. Born and raised in Kolkata, India, Shub believes that the most meaningful stories come directly from the people who experience them. Through GroundLens, he aims to empower freelance journalists across Asia to report firsthand on the issues shaping their communities and connect those stories with readers around the world.
With more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection, and enterprise technology, Shub has served as a trusted advisor to national and global organizations. He specializes in helping organizations protect sensitive information through modern encryption, data protection strategies, cloud security, and risk management. His career has been built on delivering practical, cost-effective solutions, analyzing complex challenges, and providing strategic guidance that supports long-term organizational success.
Beyond his technical expertise, Shub is passionate about protecting another valuable asset—truth. He founded GroundLens to encourage independent, ethical journalism that reflects real experiences from the ground rather than distant interpretations. He believes local journalists play a vital role in helping the world better understand the social, economic, technological, environmental, and cultural changes affecting everyday lives.

Marie Thuillier serves as the Chief Financial Officer of GroundLens.org, where she oversees the organization's financial strategy, budgeting, and fiscal stewardship. She is committed to ensuring that every donation is managed responsibly, transparently, and effectively to advance GroundLens' mission of supporting independent journalism.
Marie brings more than 15 years of experience in learning and development, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and business operations. Throughout her career, she has helped organizations strengthen their people, processes, and long-term growth through strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous learning.
She attended Stanford University from 2010 to 2011, further strengthening her leadership and professional development expertise.
As CFO, Marie works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure strong financial stewardship, accountability, and transparency. She is passionate about building a sustainable nonprofit organization where resources are managed responsibly and every contribution helps empower freelance journalists to tell authentic stories from the ground up.
